Increasing Physical Activity
For many people, becoming more physically active is not as simple as being told to exercise more. Movement is influenced by factors beyond motivation, such as pain, mood, body image, and personal history with exercise.
Together, we work to understand what makes movement difficult and develop realistic steps that help you build a more active life. When appropriate, I also incorporate NEAT, or non-exercise activity thermogenesis, by focusing on everyday movement outside of structured exercise. For some people, this kind of movement can be a more realistic starting point, making it easier to increase activity over time.
