Insomnia

Insomnia is more than poor sleep; it is a combination of ingrained maladaptive patterns involving both mind and body. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a structured treatment that aims to correct the factors that maintain sleep difficulty: time in bed, conditioned wakefulness, sleep effort, and habits that may provide short-term relief but worsen long-term outcomes.

When the situation calls for it, I also draw from broader behavioral medicine approaches to address any other issues that may be contributing to the problem. Sleep concerns rarely occur alone; when insomnia appears alongside nightmares, circadian rhythm issues, or other sleep concerns, we will address them together.
